Armin Mehling

Armin Mehling (born August 3, 1924 in Karlstadt / Main, † December 19, 2008 in Hofheim near Murnau) was a German pharmacist and painter .

Live and act

Armin Mehling attended high school in Würzburg and graduated from high school in 1941. During the Second World War he was shot down and wounded several times as a fighter pilot. In the winter semester 1945/46 he began studying philosophy and art history in Würzburg ; later he changed the subject and studied pharmacy . In 1952 he obtained his license to practice medicine .

Until 1976 he worked as a pharmacist in Kulmbach , Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz and Munich . For health reasons he leased his pharmacy, moved to Hofheim near Murnau in April 1976 and from then on devoted himself to the fine arts as a freelance artist. From 1964 onwards, Mehling was able to present his drawings, watercolors and paintings in numerous solo exhibitions while he was still practicing his profession .
