Armin Schütz

Armin Schütz (born December 28, 1935 in Mainz , † November 30, 2009 in Aachen ) was a German Romance studies , Franco-Romance studies and linguist .

Life

From 1955 to 1957, Schütz trained as an industrial clerk . He then studied Romance languages, English and philosophy at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . From 1964 to 1970 he worked as a German lecturer at the University of Dijon . He received his doctorate in Mainz in 1967 under Edmund Schramm with the work The linguistic reception and stylistic effect of Anglicism in French - demonstrated in the advertising language 1962–1964 (Meisenheim am Glan 1968). From 1970 until his retirement in 1998 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Romance Philology at RWTH Aachen University .

Armin Schütz was the brother of Günther Schütz .
