The Armor Inlet is an ice-covered bay on the north side of Siple Island before Bakutis Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is located immediately west of the Armor Peninsula .
A rough position determination was carried out using aerial photographs taken in January 1947 as part of Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the bay after the Armor Institute of Technology in Chicago , which had financially supported the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) in purchasing the Snow Cruiser .
