Arnim Suessenguth
Arnim Süssenguth , also led by Arnim Suessenguth and Arnim Waldeck-Süssenguth , (born October 31, 1902 in Germany , † August 14, 1964 in Berlin ) was a German stage, film and television actor as well as a director and theater manager.
Life
Süssenguth began his artistic career in 1924 at the theater in Bamberg . This was followed by commitments to other provincial theaters in Dessau and Schneidemühl , where he was also employed as a director (director) from the early 1930s before he first reached Berlin in 1934. There Süssenguth played at the Theater am Nollendorfplatz , most recently under the management of Harald Paulsen . During the German occupation of France, Süssenguth was engaged as an actor from 1941 to 1944 (from the 1941/42 season also as director and senior director) at the German-speaking city theater of Strasbourg . In 1944 he left Strasbourg before the American troops invaded and returned to the Reich. Here Süssenguth continued his career as artistic director at the Bavarian Artists' Games in Fürth after the end of the war . In the 1947/49 seasons he worked as an actor at the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart, and in the following season at the Hamburger Kammerspiele . In 1950 Süssenguth was hired as an actor and director by the Comedy Basel . There he played numerous stage classics, for example as Wagner in Faust , and stayed for over a decade until shortly before his death.
During his time in Berlin (1934 to 1939) Süssenguth also appeared several times in films; he was often used as an officer and honorary officer. His appearances in front of the camera were sporadic after the war; most recently, from 1955 to 1961, he was also seen in several German television productions. Arnim Süssenguth, who has repeatedly traded as Arnim Waldeck-Süssenguth in the course of his career, has also worked for radio.
