Arno Kölblin (born October 9, 1911 in Berlin ; † December 19, 1998 ) was a German boxer .

Career

Arno Kölblin decided to become a professional boxer immediately after graduating from high school . He played his first professional fight on March 12, 1931. He was German champion from 1937 to 1938 and also European heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1939 . In his career he fought twice against Adolf Heuser and three times against Walter Neusel , but lost each time on points.

In 1937 he was made an honorary citizen of Plauen .

After the Second World War he was for some time the coach of the GDR boxing team, but moved to West Germany in 1956. In the Federal Republic of Germany, he then worked as a manager and trainer for several professional boxers.
