Arnold Brugger

Arnold Brügger (born October 19, 1888 in Meiringen ; † April 2, 1975 there ) was a Swiss painter .

Brügger attended the Bern School of Applied Arts in 1908 , where he met Otto Morach. Before, during and after the First World War, he met Otto Morach again and again in Germany, Paris and Switzerland and dealt with Expressionism, Cubism and Constructivism. Bruges' works are influenced by the great trends of his time: Cubism , Orphism and Futurism . Bruges was particularly shaped by the works of the French painter Paul Cézanne . Brügger was close friends with Otto Morach and Fritz Baumann . Like so many artists, Arnold Brügger found artistic recognition only late.

In 2019 the Meridian Gallery in Zurich will be exhibiting works by Arnold Brügger.
