Arnold Kappler (born November 4, 1889 in Gossau , † July 23, 1970 in Mels , entitled to live in Wattwil ) was a Swiss trade unionist and politician ( KVP ).

Arnold Kappler, son of home ticker Arnold Kappler senior and Maria Josepha née Hensch, attended primary schools in Gossau and Straubenzell , then the Catholic secondary school in St. Gallen , before completing training as a ship ticker in Teufen AR . Arnold Kappler was subsequently employed as a ship ticker until he took over the post of central cashier and secretary of the Swiss Association of Christian Textile and Clothing Workers in 1919, which he held until 1957. He also held the office of treasurer of the Christian National Trade Union Confederation from 1928 to 1957 . Arnold Kappler, who was married to Emmy, the daughter of the farmer Edwin Steiger, died in 1970 at the age of 80 in Mels.

Arnold Kappler, who joined the Swiss Conservative People's Party, took his party from 1925 to 1942 in the municipal council of the city of St. Gallen, 1936-1957 in St. Gallen cantonal parliament and from 1939 to 1947 in the National Council . In addition, he worked in various organizations of the Christian social movement. Kappler's commitment was particularly focused on the material and social improvement of the stickers, the expansion of unemployment insurance and the Christian trade union movement.
