Arnold Willemer

Arnold Willemer (born April 24, 1960 in Recklinghausen ) is a German computer scientist and specialist author.

Professional career

Willemer graduated from the Humboldt School in Bad Homburg in 1980 . He then did his community service at the Evangelical Youth Office in Frankfurt am Main and began studying computer science at the University of Frankfurt in 1982 , which he completed in 1990. The topic of his diploma thesis was a network implementation under the MINIX operating system for the Atari ST . In the next period he worked as a freelance programmer and taught himself several programming languages, including C ++ , as an autodidact . In 2000 he founded a computer company, which he still owns today.

Since 2002 he has been writing specialist books on selected topics such as C ++ and Unix . Some of these have already been released as free OpenBooks . He also works as a freelance lecturer and gives IT training for industry . He has been a freelance consultant in Hamburg since 2008 . He has been working at the Flensburg University of Applied Sciences since 2016 .
