Arnold de Kalbermatten

Arnold de Kalbermatten (born May 6, 1891 in Sion ; † June 12, 1983 , Catholic , resident in Sion) was a Swiss federal civil servant.

Life

Arnold de Kalbermatten was born on May 6, 1891 in Sion as the son of the banker and Catholic-conservative politician Ludwig von Kalbermatten . He first attended grammar schools in Sion and Einsiedeln from 1902 to 1910 , after which he studied engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich , which he completed in 1914.

As a result, he gained professional experience in the private sector from 1915 to 1919, before he was employed as an engineer at the Federal Office for Water Management until 1940, then as deputy superstructure inspector until 1954 and finally as federal superstructure inspector until 1956. After his retirement he was a delegate of the Federal Council in the Federal Linth Commission from 1957 to 1961 .

Arnold de Kalbermatten was married to Emma Antoinette nee de Preux. He died on June 12, 1983, one month after turning 92 in Sion.
