Alexander Paul Englert

Alexander Paul Englert (born September 7, 1960 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a freelance photographer in Frankfurt with a focus on people and street photography .

Life

Alexander Paul Englert studied philosophy from 1980 to 1983 at the University of Frankfurt and from 1983 to 1989 photography and design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main . From 1993 to 1995 he was a studio fellow at the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt. His interest is in the image of man. As a participating observer, he perceives people in their life situations and contexts and depicts them: on the street, in his hometown and in foreign cities, in nature. He has been working as a freelance photographer in Frankfurt since 2002 and has long been a photographer for the Frankfurt theater . Within the art project series of the house, curated by Leonore Leonardy , the photo art projects with the actors of the ensemble Views and Between Work and Paradise were created . He has carried out numerous other photo art projects with a socio-political background, such as Points of View , in which he asked Americans and Iraqis for their opinion on the outbreak of the Iraq war. He focused on your viewpoints in pictures and text. He traveled repeatedly to China and artistically documented the rapid changes in the country. In collaboration with Jutta Kaußen and Barbara Englert , he investigated with the photo art project MOMENTUM. Poets in Scenes , the positions of outstanding German-writing authors, first exhibited in the Goethe-Haus Frankfurt am Main. He exhibits nationally and internationally and takes part in thematic exhibitions with his photographs.
