Ludwig von Kalbermatten

Ludwig von Kalbermatten (born July 4, 1856 in Sion , † July 9, 1896 in Reckingen , entitled to live in Sion and Reckingen) was a Swiss politician (Catholic Conservative) .

Ludwig von Kalbermatten was born on July 4, 1856 in Sion as the son of the lieutenant colonel and commander of a cavalry regiment in the Piedmontese service Ludwig von Kalbermatten senior and Adele, born in Reckingen, born Taffiner. He first graduated from college and the law school in Sion. He then completed internships in an Italian bank and in Leipzig .

As a result, he was active as a banker in customs and administrator of state assets and goods. He also held directorships for the hospital and the Sitten mortgage bank. Ludwig von Kalbermatten, father of the chief civil servant Arnold de Kalbermatten , married Louise, nee du Fay de Lavallaz, in 1882. He died unexpectedly on July 9, 1896 at the age of only 40 in Reckingen.

As a party member of the Catholic Conservatives, he represented the Goms district in the Valais Grand Council from 1881 to 1893 and from 1894 to 1896 . He also served as mayor of Sion between 1893 and 1896. In addition, he took a seat on the Council of States for the canton from 1895 to 1896 .
