The Arroyo Chamizo is a river located in southern Uruguay .
It rises in the northeastern part of the department of San José on the border with Florida and Flores in the Cuchilla del Pintado . Immediately to the north is the source of the Arroyo del Corral de Piedra . From there it flows in a south-westerly direction and is fed by numerous left and right tributaries. Among other things, it passes the Cerro Zarco on the right and crosses under Ruta 3 . It finally flows north of San José de Mayo into the Río San José .
