The Arroyo Mandiyú is a small river in northern Uruguay .

The creek, which is about 33 kilometers long in the Artigas department, has its source in the range of hills known as Cuchilla Guaviyú , ten kilometers east of the city of Colonia Palma .

The river, which initially drains to the northwest, is fed by around 35 small streams and tributaries, which are used intensively to irrigate the sugar cane plantations that predominate here .

North of the city of Colonia Palma , the national road 3 crosses the river on the way to the neighboring city of Lenguazo .

Downstream, after three kilometers, the Arroyo Falso Mandiyú joins as the most important tributary on the left. The river now changes direction several times, is dammed by another dam and flows into the Río Uruguay from the left .
