Artūras Žukauskas (2015)

Artūras Žukauskas (born November 22, 1956 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian physicist, since 2015 rector of the Vilniaus universitetas .

Life

From 1963 to 1968 he studied at the 5th Middle School in Šiauliai . After graduating from high school from 1968 to 1974 at Salomėja Nėris Middle School in Vilnius Old Town , he completed the physics diploma at VU from 1974 to 1979 and became a physicist and physics teacher. From 1980 to 1982 he completed his postgraduate studies and in 1983 received his doctorate for candidate Nauk at the VU. Since 1993 he has been a professor at the Semiconductor Physics Chair. From 2013 to 2015 he headed the Semiconductor - Optoelectronics department at the Institute of Applied Sciences . In March 2015 he was selected as the university rector. He prevailed against the VU professors such as physicist Jūras Banys , lawyer Vytautas Nekrošius , biochemist Valdemaras Razumas (President of Lietuvos mokslų akademija ) and other applicants.
