The Didždvario grammar school (lit. Didždvario gimnazija ) is a state grammar school in Šiauliai . Since 2005 it has been possible to obtain the International Baccalaureate in English as a school leaving certificate.
Erasmus +
The school coordinated an Erasmus + program from 2017 to 2019 , in which other schools from Poland, Spain, Turkey, Romania and Lithuania participated.
history
In the spring of 1896, with the permission of the Kovno Governorate , donations to finance the school began. In 1898 the building of the girls' high school Šiauliai was built on the property of Count Nikolajus Zubovas . School operations began in 1900. The language of instruction was Russian. In 1905 there was the first graduation class with 32 women. During the First World War , a German military hospital was housed on the site . From 1918 to 1928 the school was called Gymnasium Šiauliai , from 1954 to 1994 5th Middle School Šiauliai , from 1994 to 1999 Didždvario Middle School Šiauliai and since 1999 Didždvario High School Šiauliai .
