Artforum Culture Foundation

Artforum Culture Foundation (ACF, also present in German-speaking countries under the name Artforum Kulturstiftung ) is a private European foundation with headquarters in Thessaloniki , Greece , and representative offices in Athens , Cologne , Paris and New York City .

Exhibitions

The foundation, established in 1996, maintains a cultural center in Thessaloniki, which has hosted numerous exhibitions by Greek and international artists since 1996. The non-profit foundation is committed to promoting art and culture. Internationally oriented exhibitions and participation in exhibitions are primarily taken into account. The Artforum Vilka exhibition center near the harbor was inaugurated in 1996 by Helmut Newton with a retrospective of his works.

Through ACF, also in cooperation with Tsatsis-Projects | Artforum and ArtExpert, Winter Stiftung Hamburg and other partners, over one hundred art exhibitions with works of painting, sculpture, photography and performance art were realized and often documented through catalogs, brochures and posters.

Projects

One area of ​​the foundation's work has been dedicated to the exchange of art and culture in Greece and the regions of the Greek diaspora from the very beginning . Estate management

Artforum Culture Foundation looks after art from collections and artist bequests. The tasks include conservation care, exhibitions, scientific processing, publications.

With the takeover and care of the artistic estate of the photo artist Heinz Günter Mebusch in The Mebusch Estate in 2001, a special focus in the field of photography was created. The importance of this area was reinforced when the Swiss photographer and object maker Vera Isler-Leiner left her work support to the Artforum Culture Foundation while she was still alive. The extensive photo inventory includes portraits of artists from the second half of the 20th century.

Global Galleries

An independent platform was created with Global Galleries for the mediation of works of art from private property to promote artists and social projects. A website was also created in 2019.

Donation and foundation advice

To arrange donations and to provide independent advice and to set up charitable foundations, the Artforum Culture Foundation and the Winter Foundation Hamburg have set up their own voluntary service with GoPublic foundation advice. The aim is to promote independent cultural projects.
