Arthur Agstner

Arthur Agstner (born September 14, 1922 in Bozen ; † February 5, 1991 in Vienna ) was an Austrian diplomat .

Life

Arthur Agstner was the son of Creszenz Jager and Franz Agstner. He married Irmtraut Baden and studied law at the University of Innsbruck and in 1947 became a research assistant at the Chair of Law in Innsbruck, where he received his doctorate in law .

In 1951 he was ambassador in The Hague, where his son Rudolf Agstner was born. From 1965 to 1968 Agstner headed the human resources department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from 1968 to 1972 he was ambassador to Tel Aviv .

From 1972 to 1975 Agstner was ambassador to Sofia , from 1982 to 1987 he was ambassador to Budapest .
