Arthur Bally (born December 16, 1849 in Schönenwerd ; † December 31, 1912 there ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and patron .

Arthur Bally was the second son of the Swiss entrepreneur Carl Franz Bally . He did a bank apprenticeship in Geneva , an apprenticeship in his father's elastic weaving and then traveled to the La Plata states , the USA and Euroa. In 1874 he married Julie Herzog from Aarau . In 1877 Arthur Bally joined his father's company "Bally & Co." and took it over in 1892 together with his brother Eduard (1847–1926) as "CF Bally Sons". His son-in-law was Paul Jakob Matter .

Arthur Bally was a free-spirited Solothurn cantonal councilor and banker of the Cantonal Bank from 1886 . He initiated and financed numerous social projects, such as B. the Allerheiligenberg lung sanatorium, which opened in 1910. In his will he earmarked a million francs for charitable purposes and the disability insurance of his company. He donated part of his important coin collection to the National Museum in Zurich .
