Paul Jakob Matter
Paul Jakob Matter-Bally (born January 30, 1868 in Kölliken , Canton Aargau ; † September 26, 1950 ibid) was a Swiss entrepreneur .
life and work
Paul Jakob Matter was the son of the entrepreneur Jakob. He owned a dyeing and colored weaving mill and a strand factory. Matter studied at the chemical-technical department of the Polytechnic in Zurich . This was followed by studies at the University of Lausanne and specialist studies a. a. in Frankfurt-Höchst , Silesia and Barmen . In 1893, Matter joined his father's company. He and his brothers took over this in 1906. In 1900 Matter married Alice, née Bally. She was the daughter of Arthur Bally .
Matter had numerous mandates in various companies. He worked for example in the Aargau Chamber of Commerce as a board member and from 1923 to 1940 as its president and from 1913 to 1945 as a board member of CF Bally AG and Bally Schuhfabriken AG.
