Arthur Haulot
Baron Arthur Haulot (born November 15, 1913 in Angleur near Liège , † May 24, 2005 in Brussels ) was a Belgian journalist, humanist and poet.
biography
Haulot was an active member of the armed resistance against the German occupation during World War II . As President of the Jeunes Socialistes , he was arrested at the end of December 1941 and first deported to the Dachau concentration camp and later to the Mauthausen concentration camp . After his liberation on April 29, 1945, he worked in the Comité International de Dachau .
In 1956 he became Commissaire Général for Tourism . He held this office until 1978.
