Arthur Zeller

Arthur Zeller (* 1947 ; † November 12, 2013 ) was a Swiss lawyer, Aargau canton politician ( FDP ) and board member.

biography

Zeller, who was admitted to the bar in 1975, joined the Aargau Bar Association in 1976 and ran his office in Klingnau , was president of the Aargau cantonal section of the FDP from 1991 to 1996 .

From 1995 he was a member of the bank council of Aargauische Kantonalbank , the last six years from 2005 its president, until he left at the end of September 2012 because of the 16-year term of office. The bank council is the highest supervisory body of the cantonal bank and is elected for a four-year term of office by the grand council , the cantonal parliament. Clearly inferior opponent Zeller in 2005 was his party colleague Corina Eichenberger . His successor was again a liberal on October 1, 2012 with Dieter Egloff. During Zeller's tenure, the total assets of the AKB rose from 8 to over 20 billion Swiss francs, the gross profit tripled to over 200 million francs, and the profit transfer to the canton rose from 5 to 64 million francs.
