Artur Cezary Górski (born January 30, 1970 in Warsaw ; † April 1, 2016 there ) was a Polish publicist and politician . From 2005 until his death he was a member of the Sejm .

Life

Artur Górski finished his studies in political science and social sciences at the Faculty of History and Social Sciences of the Theological Catholic Academy in Warsaw in 1994 . In 1998 he received his doctorate. During his doctoral studies, he joined the student association "Respublica".

From 1995 to 1997 he was a journalist in the political editorial department as well as the political department of the national editorial office of Polska Agencja Prasowa (PAP, Polish Press Agency). In 1998 he worked as editor-in-chief of the national Catholic newspaper Nasz Dziennik .

Since 1999 he worked in the government administration. In 1999 he was head of the political cabinet of Minister Ryszard Czarnecki . From 1999 to 2001 he was advisor to the prime minister, then director of the prime minister's political cabinet.

From 1999 to 2000 he advised the management of the PAP. In 2002 he became a councilor for the Warsaw district of Mokotów . In 2003 he was in charge of the Organization and Supervision Department at the Voivodship Labor Office in Warsaw, then the Internal Control Department.

He was a lecturer at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw and a research assistant at the Bogdan Jański University. He is the author of publications in the fields of history, the history of ideas and political science. From 1998 to 2006 he was editor-in-chief of the three-month publication Pro Fide, Rege et Lege .

From 1988 to 2004 he was chairman of the Conservative-Monarchist Club . Since 2002 he has been a member of Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS).

In the 2005 parliamentary elections , he was elected to the Sejm from the list of PiS for the Warsaw constituency. In the fifth electoral term he was chairman of the parliamentary group for the "regaining of respect for state power", in which representatives of the PiS and the Catholic-nationalist league Polskich Rodzin met. From July 10, 2007 to October 4, 2007, and again from November 30, 2007, he was a member of the Prime Minister's Public Service Council. He was one of the initiators of the project for a Sejm resolution to appoint Jesus Christ as King of Poland. The decision was rejected.

In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , he was re-elected to the Sejm with 3,070 votes. He was a member of the Sejm commissions for administration and internal affairs as well as education, science and youth.

During a Sejm debate on November 5, 2008, he called the newly elected President of the USA Barack Obama, among other things, a "Black Messiah of the new left". He quoted the words of his parliamentary group colleague Stanisław Pięta , according to which Barack Obama was an "impending catastrophe" and the "end of the civilization of the white man".

In an interview on April 12, 2010, Górski put the Russian government to blame for the plane disaster near Smolensk , which, among other things, killed President Lech Kaczyński . Among other things, he alleged that the plane crashed because the Russian authorities had tried several times to prevent it from landing in Smolensk on the pretext of bad weather, because they did not want Kaczyński to take part in the memorial ceremony for the Katyn massacre and possibly criticize the Russian government. In the parliamentary elections of 2011 and 2015 he was re-elected to the Sejm. Górski died on April 1, 2016 after a long and serious illness.
