Artur K. Vogel

Artur Kilian Vogel (born April 28, 1953 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss journalist and book author. From January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2014, he was editor-in-chief of the Bern daily newspaper Der Bund .

Life

Vogel was born the son of a middle school teacher and the eldest of six siblings in Lucerne; he grew up in Lucerne and Reussbühl , where he attended primary school and high school ( Matura type B ). During his studies of law and business administration at the University of Zurich , he worked as a freelancer for the now-disappeared Luzerner Neusten Nachrichten . In 1978 he switched to the Tages-Anzeiger , for which he worked for 20 years, including as a correspondent in London (1986 to 1988) and in the Middle East (1988 to 1996) and as head of the foreign editorial office (1996 to 1998). Vogel later worked for the news magazine Facts (French correspondent ), the Weltwoche (head of the foreign affairs department) and for Swiss radio DRS . From 2003 to the end of 2006 he worked for the Aargauer Zeitung in the domestic and international section. He has been working as a freelance journalist, media consultant and book author since 2015.

Artur K. Vogel is divorced and has two grown daughters.
