Artur Korn (born December 4, 1937 in Wuppertal ) is a German opera, lied and concert singer ( bass ).

Life

Artur Korn studied singing in Cologne, Munich and Vienna. His singing teachers were u. a. Clemens Glettenberg and Franz Schuch-Tovini . After his first engagements at the Opera Studio in Cologne and at the Graz Opera House , international commitments all over the world took the artist. He sang the major roles in his field at the opera houses of Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, New York, Milan, Barcelona, ​​Palermo, Berlin, London, Chicago, San Francisco, Montreal, Toronto and others. like m. 2007–2010 he took part in the Bayreuth Festival . He also made guest appearances at the Bregenz, Salzburg and Glyndebourne festivals.

The artist was named Austrian Chamber Singer in 1983 and six years later he received the Medal of Honor from the City of Vienna .
