The Aschbach rises in the Bad Kissingen district south of the Hammelburg camp , near the picture oak. It initially runs in a southerly direction, along the St 2294 to Gauaschach, a district of Hammelburg . There it flows into the Main-Spessart district and changes its direction of flow to the southwest. Via Obersfeld, Hundsbach, Bühler and Münster, it reaches Aschfeld, where it crosses under the B 27 and flows into the Wern .
