Aschot Nadanjan ( Armenian Աշոտ Նադանյան , born September 19, 1972 in Baku ) is an Armenian chess player and trainer.
Chess trainer and journalist
Nadanjan has a university degree as a chess coach. In 1998, at the age of 26, he became the official coach of the Armenian Chess Federation, and in 2007 the official FIDE coach. He taught among others Gabriel Sarkissjan and Varuzhan Akobian . From December 26, 1999 to August 17, 2001 he was the national coach of the Kuwait national team , from 2005 to 2010 of the Singapore national team . Playing for the Intchess team , he was Singapore team champion in 2005. He wrote articles for the magazines New In Chess , Szachy Chess, Kaissiber , Schach-Magazin 64 and Schachinformator . He has held the title of FIDE Senior Trainer since 2017.
Chess player
As a member of the third team of Armenia, Nadanyan took part in the 1996 Chess Olympiad in Yerevan , where he achieved a positive result with 6.5 points from 11 games on board 3. He took Dinamo Hajastan at European Club Cup 1997 in Kazan in part. Nadanjan has held the title of International Master since 1997 and achieved a grandmaster standard at the 20th Goldberg Memorial in Moscow in December 2014 . With PN BKMA he finished second in the Armenian team championship in 2014.
