Ash My Love is an Austrian duo .
Band history
Ash My Love was founded in Vienna in 2012. The duo consists of Andreas Dauböck (foot drums, guitar, vocals) and Ursula Winterauer (vocals, bass). In 2012 her first single, The Lobbyist, was released . The EP Heart followed in 2013 .
In 2014 the first album Honeymoon Blues was released on Noise Appeal Records . The band recorded the album in just three days. The cover is decorated with a skull and a drawing by Robert Johnson . The album was released on CD, digitally and as a gold LP limited to 100 copies. In 2015 the band was nominated for the FM4 Award, which is presented as part of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award .
The second album Money was released in 2017 . On the cover this time you can see Robert Mitchum as Harry Powell from the movie The Night of the Hunter . The band played at the Popfest in Vienna in 2017 .
Music genre
The musical style can best be described as blues punk. that is, it is a mix of traditional, rather dirty and distorted blues and elements of garage rock. The music is mostly lo-fi .
The texts mainly deal with topics such as transience, death and love. The second album is somewhat reminiscent of a script or a road trip and operates with the themes of death, hatred and religiosity.
