Asher Dov Angel (born September 6, 2002 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American actor and singer .

Life

Angel was born in Phoenix , Arizona in 2002 and grew up in a Jewish family with two younger siblings in Paradise Valley , a suburb of Phoenix. Angel made his first film appearance at the age of five in the movie Jolene . At the age of twelve he took part in a casting for the Disney series Story of Andi , where he has played the role of Jonah Beck since 2017 . He and his family moved to Utah for the filming .

In November 2017, it was announced that Asher and Zachary Levi , who plays his adult alter ego, would play Billy Batson in the DC adaptation Shazam! , which hit theaters in April 2019, takes over. For his role he was nominated for the Saturn Award for best young actor .
