Ashes You Leave is a Croatian death-doom and gothic metal band founded in 1995 .

history

Ashes You Leave was founded in 1995 in Rijeka , Croatia. After the group released two demos, they received more attention from several labels, including Morbid Records from Germany , with which the group eventually signed a contract.

In 1998 the debut album The Passage Back to Life was released via Morbid Records. At this point the group was playing metal in the style of My Dying Bride , which was the favorite group of Ashes You Leave musicians. A year later, Desperate Existence, the second album was released on the German label. With The Inheritance of Sin and Shame the already third album followed within three years. At this point, Ashes You Leave was playing her first tour of Europe . Shortly after the release of the third album, the group had to look for a new singer, as the actual singer had to quit due to personal problems. The new singer was found in Marina. Before joining Ashes You Leave, she was active as a singer in the Putokazi choir. In 2002 the fourth studio album was finally released, called Fire . After Fire was released, the group got out of Morbid Records.

In the meantime the group was able to perform at the major European metal festivals. There were appearances at Summerbreeze 2002, Metal Female Voices Fest 2004, Metalcamp 2010, Wave-Gotik-Treffen 2010 and Metalfest 2012 in Croatia .

In 2009 the group signed a contract with the Greek label Sleazy Rider Records , where the sixth album entitled Songs of The Lost was produced and released. In 2011, the group again switched the label to Rock N Growl Records .
