The Ashuelot River is a left tributary of the Connecticut River in the US state of New Hampshire .
River course
The Ashuelot River forms the drain of Butterfield Pond in Pillsbury State Park north of Washington . It flows south to Marlow . It is dammed halfway to Ashuelot Pond . The NH Route 10 now follows the river to Winchester . The Ashuelot River curves to the west and then to the south. To the north of Keene it flows through the Surry Mountain Lake . After flowing through the city of Keene, the river turns to the southwest and later to the west. West Swanzey , Winchester, Ashuelot and finally just before the Hinsdale estuary lie on the riverbank . The Ashuelot has a length of 103 km. Below Keene there are several covered bridges along the river.
