Askolds Fēlikss Hermanovskis (born September 6 . Jul / 19th September  1912 greg. In Riga ; † 18th August 1967 in New York City ) was a Latvian skier .

life and career

Hermanovskis was born the son of the engineer and politician Teodors Hermanovskis (1883–1964), he had three brothers. In 1931 he graduated from the 1st Riga State High School and then took architecture courses at the University of Latvia , but left the university in 1936 without a degree. In February 1936, the Latvian who was a member of the university sports club, like his compatriot Herberts Bērtulsons, took part in the Alpine Combination of the Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Germany; he finished 56th in the downhill and was disqualified in the slalom competition in the second run. A few years later, Hermanovskis sailed on a yacht from Plymouth (England) to Massachusetts (United States) and settled in Bermuda . He worked as a bookplate artist and died after a long illness at the age of 54 in New York City .
