The Aspid SS is a super sports car manufactured by Aspid . Its base price is 95 000 euros. There are two models, the Sport and the Supersport .
background
Designer Ignacio Fernandez Rodriguez (IFR), previously at Prodrive and Mitsubishi , worked a total of five years with his engineering team in Reus , Spain on the super sports car that was to set new standards. It is a car with two seats that is small, very light and compact at just 740 kilograms. Above all, it should serve as a demonstration of what the Aspid company is technologically capable of. So emphasis was placed on low CO 2 emissions and both the standards of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and those of the ECE homologation were met.
The Aspid SS was first presented to the public in 2008 at the British International Motor Show .
The name Aspid is derived from the aspis viper that Cleopatra is said to have killed. It should evoke the association of a fast, agile snake, a viper or a cobra .
technology
The car became known primarily through several patents, which represent a special feature. Firstly, the so-called Twin Brake Disc System, i.e. two brakes that are normally installed in motorcycles. There is also the Dual Lip Reinforcement (DLR), a double wishbone axle that adapts aerodynamically. The spaceframe chassis is also patented and made of aluminum. The car has scissor doors and the roof can be folded up. As engine was a R4 - gasoline engine from the Honda S2000 equipped with the Model Super Sport with a compressor is charged by Vortech, installed. The vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds and is limited to a top speed of 250 km / h. The vehicle has no instrument cluster in the dashboard; the engine speed and the speed of the vehicle are displayed on a screen in the detachable steering wheel.
