Astrid Margarete Elisabeth Birkhahn (born March 27, 1952 in the Osnabrück district ) is a German politician ( CDU ). She has been married since 1971 and has two children.

Training and work

Astrid Birkhahn attended elementary school in Freudenstadt / Black Forest from 1958 and passed the Abitur in Münster in 1970 . From 1970 to 1973 she studied at the University of Münster to become a teacher in English, music and German. She finished her studies with the first state examination in 1973 and - after her legal clerkship in Münster - with the second state examination in 1975.

From 1975 to 1995 she was a teacher at the Everswinkel secondary school . From 1983 to 1995 she worked as a trainer, from 1995 to 2004 as deputy director and since 2004 director at the study seminar in Münster I.

politics

Astrid Birkhahn joined the CDU in 1992 and was active in her party in various board positions. She was an assessor on the Everswinkel local board, from 1997 to 2001 an assessor on the district board and since 2001 deputy district chairwoman. In addition, she is also an assessor in the district committee of the Women's Union.

In terms of local politics, she has been performing mandates since 1994 as a member of the Everswinkel community council and as a member of the Warendorf district council. She has been deputy group leader in the district council since 1999.

In the 2010 state elections , she entered the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 9th. She was directly elected in the Warendorf I state electoral district. In the state elections in 2012 , Birkhahn succeeded in re-entering the state parliament. She did not run again for the 2017 state election.
