Astrid Schütz (born December 28, 1960 in Würzburg ) is a German psychologist and professor at the University of Bamberg .

biography

After graduating from the Johannes-Scharrer-Gymnasium in Nuremberg , Schütz studied psychology , sociology and pedagogy at the Universities of Erlangen - Nuremberg , Bamberg and the University of Alabama from 1980 to 1986 . From 1986 to 1990 she was a research assistant and from 1990 to 1999 research assistant at the chair for personality psychology and diagnostics at the University of Bamberg. During this time, she received her doctorate in 1992 with a dissertation on the topic of "Self-portrayal of politicians. Analysis of election campaign appearances ”. Research stays at the University of Virginia and Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio followed. 1999 habilitation them with the subject "self dynamics and self-regulation. Variants of positive self-assessment ranging from self-acceptance to arrogance. ”From December 1999 to March 2011, Schütz was Professor of Personality Psychology and Diagnostics at Chemnitz University of Technology and, since 2009, has also been Dean of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences.
