The Ataköy Athletics Arena ( Turkish Ataköy Atletizm Salonu ) is an athletics - sports hall in Istanbul district of Bakırköy .

The sports facility with 7,450 seats was specially built for the 2012 World Indoor Athletics Championships , which were held from March 9th to 11th. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Sinan Erdem Dome multipurpose hall, which was inaugurated in 2009 .

The Ataköy Athletics Arena is the first athletics hall in Turkey. It is 125 meters long, 87 meters wide and 27 meters high and covers an area of ​​10,875 square meters. A six-lane running track with a length of 200 meters has been laid in the arena. There is also the eight-lane track for the 60-meter run . There are also facilities for the shot put , high and pole vault, as well as long and triple jump .

In the failed application of the city of Istanbul for the 2020 Summer Olympics , the Ataköy Athletics Arena was intended as a sports facility.
