Athanasios Miaoulis ( Greek : Αθανάσιος Μιαούλης) (* 1815 in Hydra ; † June 7, 1867 in Paris ) was a Greek politician and former prime minister .

The son of Admiral Andreas Miaoulis was a midshipman with his father and later graduated from the Munich Military Academy . Later, he was Marine officer and rose to adjutant of King Otto I to. On October 11, 1855, he was appointed Minister of the Navy in the first cabinet of Dimitrios Voulgaris .

From November 25, 1857 to June 7, 1862 he was his successor as Prime Minister. From 1859, his government did not have a majority in the National Assembly (Voulí ton Ellínon) . In the period that followed, there was unrest on the part of the student body, who received a very prominent and dynamic member of parliament in the later Prime Minister Epaminondas Deligiorgis . Soon thereafter, there were tangible clashes between opponents and supporters of the king. For this reason, the period of Miaoulis' government from 1861 to 1862 is known as the "Ministry of Blood".

After the king was overthrown, he went into exile in France .
