Athanassios "Sakis" Prittas ( Greek Αθανάσιος Πρίττας , born January 9, 1979 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek football player .

Career

Prittas played in his youth up to the age of 20 in Nea Michaniona in the prefecture of Thessaloniki for the club Poseidonas before he moved to the northern Greek AO Xanthi . There he played regularly in the Super League from the start and he stayed with the club for six years.

In 2005, the midfielder moved to his native Thessaloniki and joined Iraklis Thessaloniki and finally went two years later to city rivals Aris Thessaloniki .

It was not until 2010, at the age of 31, that Athanassios Prittas was nominated for the first time for the Greek national football team . At the beginning of June 2010 he was called up for the squad of the Greeks for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, without having previously played in the national jersey once.
