Atsushi Kajii

Atsushi Kajii ( Japanese 梶 井 厚 志 Kajii Atsushi ; * 1963 ) is a Japanese economist .

Career, research and teaching

Kajii first studied from 1982 in his home country at Hitotsubashi University , where he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. In 1987 he moved to Harvard University in the United States . There he completed his Ph.D. in 1991 with the work “Essays on the Theory of Incomplete Markets” supervised by Andreu Mas-Colell . - Degree in Economics.

After completing his studies, Kajii initially stayed in the USA and took the position of an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania . In 1996 he returned to Japan as an associate professor at Tsukuba University , before accepting an appointment as full professor at Osaka University in 2002 . Just a year later, he accepted a call from the University of Kyoto . He also visited as a research associate at the Université catholique de Louvain and at the Singapore Management University . Since 2013 he has been editor-in-chief of the Journal of Mathematical Economics .

Kajii has received several awards for his work. Among other things, he received the Nakahara Prize in 2008 and has been a Fellow of the Econometric Society since 2012 .

In his work, Kajii deals with various aspects of microeconomics , including issues of game theory , information economics and decision-making under uncertainty .
