content

When Grandpa Ringel talks about his childhood on the Irish farm, the Raloo farm, even his three grandchildren, the twins Peter and Paul and their big sister Rosa listen eagerly. It was there that grandpa had exciting adventures with his best friends, the duck Entje, the bull Fernando ("croissant") and his sister Molly.

The three go on a treasure hunt or work as master detectives. They hunt goblins, fight back against fairies and other cheeky and strange people in the village of Tara, Ireland. Ringel learns life wisdom, big and small, which he passes on to his grandchildren as a grandpa with a wink in his eye.

In every episode, the sheep Willy provides additional fun as a bellwether when it keeps the herd busy with new ideas and cool sayings. His self-confident and dominant wife Shirley also appears in later episodes, showing that there is also a dominant woman behind a big bell-bell.
