Beutolomäus and the secret Christmas wish is a German children's film from 2006 . The film was on 17th December 2006 in KI.KA premiered.

action

Six-year-old Tim Hering meets an old bearded man who is walking through the streets looking for his sack, which is called Beutolomäus . He addresses adults and older children, such as his 11-year-old sister Lili, without a name, while he immediately knows the names of all the children he asks. Baggolomäus is Santa's only true sack . All the presents for the children fit into it, so that Santa Claus cannot deliver the presents without him.

Tim quickly realizes that this man can only be Santa Claus, while Lili no longer believes in Santa Claus. When he thinks about it again, he overhears something of the abduction of Beutolomäus in a tailor's workshop. So he and Lili, who, even if she no longer believes in Santa Claus, don't want to miss out on an exciting adventure, set off for this workshop. Meanwhile, the kidnapped Beutolomäus is brought by the criminals Pickel and Matzke to their employer, Baron Raffelberg.

The children manage to find clues to Baggage's whereabouts, and they meet Santa Claus again. So they go together to the baron. Santa Claus can't really do magic, as Tim is disappointed to find out at first, otherwise he could simply conjure up Baggolomäus. But he can do a little “Christmas magic” like magical doors that lead directly to Santa Claus' house. This convinces Lili that she starts to believe in Santa Claus again.

Baron Raffelberg had Baggins kidnapped because he collects all the magical things of world history, such as the Holy Grail , the cornucopia , etc. Only Bagolomew, Santa's only true sack, is still missing in his collection. With the help of the children, Santa Claus succeeds in freeing Bagolomäus, and the count and the criminals are brought to their just punishment.

And Tim's wish to Santa Claus is also fulfilled. He had wanted his father to celebrate Christmas with them. The herring are divorced, but when the children disappeared, they went to look for them together. The common concern for the children has brought the parents closer together again, and so the father now spends Christmas with the children and his wife.

Summary

Thanks to the young leading actor and the easy entertainment character of the film, young children can relate to it well.

criticism

"Pre-Christmas family entertainment that develops great empathy for the worries, fears and wishes of the children of divorce and separation."

Others

The film values its own German Christmas tradition. The title hero Beutolomäus Sack has been known to KIKA viewers for 10 years as the main role in a series similar to an Advent calendar. Santa Claus in the Beutolomäus programs values his own profile against the common pattern from American films. He hates it when “men in Santa Claus costumes” run around before Christmas Eve and keep saying “Ho, Ho, Ho”, which he never does. And when the children see Santa's sleigh, they realize that none of the reindeer has a red nose. Nevertheless, when he is "on duty" he wears the typical American red coat.
