Audio Antihero is a British independent label from southeast London , which was founded in October 2009 by Jamie Halliday. The label became known through the release of Nosferatu D2s We're Gonna Walk Around This City With Our Headphones on to Block Out the Noise and Benjamin Shaws I Got the Pox, the Pox Is What I Got . This included reviews from Drowned in Sound , The Skinny and Pitchfork , as well as radio stations such as BBC 6 Music , Triple R, Resonance FM and NME Radio . The label also received support from the lead singer of the band Los Campesinos! and Nic Dalton , former member of The Lemonheads .

In 2011 the label released a number of EPs . The artists and bands were Jack Hayter (formerly with Hefner ), Broken Shoulder , Wartgore Hellsnicker , Paul Hawkins & The Awkward Silences and Fighting Kites .

The proceeds of the compilation Bob Hope Would. , which was released in the same year, benefit the victims of the Tōhoku earthquake and the compilation received positive press. Jack Hayter played in Greenwich , London for the same good cause.

In the same year sales of the label slowly began to increase. Label founder Jamie Halliday was interviewed by Tom Robinson for BBC 6 Music and wrote a “Do & Don't” guide to running an independent label for the BBC website . The band Johnny Foreigner recommended Audio Antihero on their blog and the Another Form of Relief site called it "probably the greatest one-man label in the world."
