The game itself is free of charge; it is financed by a cash item shop, which makes it possible to redress your character for money.

In South Korea, a version for the PSP (June 1, 2007) and the mobile phone (June 4, 2007) were released.

history

Audition Online grew out of a comic book ( Manhwa ) called Audition. Inspired by the comic, T3 Entertainment produced Audition Online in collaboration with Yedang Online . First released in South Korea, the game became so famous that T3 Entertainment and Yedang Online sold licenses to publishers in the People's Republic of China , Hong Kong , Indonesia , Malaysia , Japan , the Philippines , North America , Thailand , Taiwan , Vietnam , Brazil and Europe . The game was also released as a "global" version, which was largely played by American and Vietnamese players. Updates for Global Audition and the server were stopped due to hacking attacks. Audition Korea remains the version that is the most expanded version with weekly updates.

In China alone, Audition has over 50 million registered users and an average of 500,000 simultaneous players.

Gameplay features

A room is created that can optionally be assigned a password . The creator of this room is the DJ . He can decide on the mode, the map and the song to be danced to. The speed of the song is given in BPM . The slowest song in Audition is 80 BPM (We Will Not Stop), the fastest 190 BPM (Love Mode).

The aim of a round is to achieve the highest possible number of points. To do this, you have to press the arrow keys in the order given by the game and press the space bar at the right moment. The scoring for a successfully completed movement depends on how close the blank line was at the beginning of the fourth bar. The ratings are displayed in Bad, Cool, Great, Perfect and Combo (Perfect x1 ...), a miss indicates that the space bar was hit too early or too late. In normal mode, the character with the most points always dances in front of the other players.

The difficulty increases with the level of the combination. The higher this is, the more arrow keys must be pressed within the bars before the space bar. If the last level is successfully completed, a so-called finish move can be danced. There is a red arrow in it, which must be pressed in the opposite direction.

If a player manages several perfects in a row, he gets extra points. He can also use it to “attack” players in his vicinity. A yellow circle around the character shows that you are being attacked, a blue circle that you have made a perfect. An attack must be blocked with a perfect, otherwise the round in which a character has a yellow circle around him does not score any points.

If a room is fully occupied, the players may receive an order. This can be very different, e.g. B. Don't dance Cool or Bad and appear at the beginning of the round. It also shows what this job brings in. All players who meet it receive their reward and are marked with an "M" in a statistic that appears at the end of each round. This statistic shows the number of points, the experience received and how often which rating was achieved.

Every player has the opportunity to play in chance mode. To do this, he has to press the Delete key. From the next level the red arrow symbols appear, which must be pressed in opposite directions on the keyboard.
