Audrey Arno

Audrey Arno (actually Adrianna Medini ; born March 7 or 17 or November 17, 1942 in Mannheim ; † June 9, 2012 ) was a German singer. She had her greatest successes in the 1960s in France, where she also performed under the first name Audrey ; since the 1970s she lived and worked in the US state Nevada .

Life

Adrianna Medini was a horse artist in a circus in her youth . In 1960 she received a recording deal in France; their first release under the stage name Audrey Arno was an EP entitled L'Homme et la femme . Further EPs ( Printemps and É vero ) followed. In the meantime, she also made recordings in Germany, including the song Wieder mal Paschanga (The Music from Caracas) with the Hazy Osterwald Sextet . The South American rhythm brought her and Osterwald (under the shortened title La Pachanga ) to number 87 in the US charts . Other singles like Toute ma vie , a French cover version of Gene McDaniels ' Tower of Strength , followed.

In 1962 and 1964 she played small film roles in the French productions Comment réussir en amour and Du grabuge chez les veuves and appeared in the Austrian hit film Sing, but don't play with me in 1963 . She was seen in various shows on German television, including Hotel Victoria and Der goldene Schuß .

In 1964 she signed a contract with the record company of Henri Salvador , who also wrote some songs for her; however, the greater part of their releases were cover versions of American hits. She settled in Paris, sang on stages both in the French capital and in Monte Carlo . In the 1970s, Audrey Arno went to Las Vegas , where she appeared in the Moulin Rouge revue. She stayed in Nevada.

Audrey Arno died at the age of 70 on June 9, 2012 after having been in a nursing home for an extended period of time, suffering from Alzheimer's disease .
