Audronis Imbrasas

Audronis Imbrasas (born June 20, 1964 in Kelmė ) is a Lithuanian dance critic, cultural manager and former politician , vice minister (2016-2017).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1982 at the choreography department of the Čiurlionis Art School in Vilnius , Imbrasas studied at the Lunacharsky Theater Art Institute in Moscow from 1987 to 1989 . In 1995 he graduated from the Vilniaus universitetas with a degree in journalism .

From 1981 to 1989 he danced at Lietuvos operos ir baleto teatras in Vilnius. From 1990 to 1994 he worked in the newspaper “Vilniaus laikraštis”, from 1995 to 1998 in the daily newspaper “ Lietuvos rytas ”. In 1995 he co-founded the Lithuanian Dance Information Center, the organizer of the international dance festival “ Naujasis Baltijos šokis ”. Imbrasas was director of this information center and, from 2002, headed the “ Menų spaustuvė ” art center in Vilnius. From December 2016 to August 2017 he was Lithuanian Vice Minister of Culture , Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson's deputy in the Skvernelis cabinet . Since August 2017 he has been an advisor to the minister at the Ministry of Culture.
