The Church of the Resurrection is a Protestant church in Nassig , a village in Wertheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .
history
- Prehistory of the Church of St. Michael
In Nassig, a Catholic Church of St. Michael was mentioned in a document as early as 1359. A parish already existed in the village at that time.
- Reformation and Counter Reformation
Nassig was brought into the Reformation by the Counts of Wertheim and with it their large ecclesiastical district, which also comprised the present-day Freudenberg districts of Boxtal , Ebenheid , Rauenberg and Wessental , Protestant. These branches of the Evangelical Church in Nassig were lost again during the Counter Reformation in the Thirty Years' War . Only the Wertheim village of Sonderriet remained a branch of the Nassig Protestant parish. The four former branches in the Freudenberger district are now diaspora locations.
- Today's Evangelical Resurrection Church
The neo-Gothic Church of the Resurrection was built in 1858 and 1948 . It belongs to the parishes of Nassig-Sonderriet in the Protestant church district of Wertheim . The parish is responsible for four diaspora villages (in Boxtal, Ebenheid, Rauenberg and Wessental). In addition to a community center, the community also runs a Protestant kindergarten.
The Weigle organ was renovated from 2008 to 2009. On February 14, 2016, ZDF broadcast a live television service from the Church of the Resurrection .
