August Elfers
August Elfers (born July 18, 1897 in Himmelpforten , † July 6, 1959 in Hanover ) was a German Lutheran theologian and missionary.
Life
Elfers studied theology and was ordained on January 1, 1926 . After temporarily working as an assistant pastor in Goslar , he became a pastor in Wriedel in 1926 . In 1925 he was entrusted with carrying out the popular mission in the Hanoverian regional church .
From 1935 to 1937 he was managing director of the People's Missionary Office II of the Hanover regional church. In 1938 he joined the Hermannsburg Mission as a mission inspector and head of the mission seminar in Hermannsburg . In 1943 he was appointed mission director.
