August Ewerbeck
August Ewerbeck (born April 7, 1875 in Brake in Lippe ; † May 21, 1961 there ) was a German painter.
Ewerbeck studied painting from 1904 to 1906 at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe under Otto Ubbelohde , from 1909 to 1910 at the Slade School of Fine Art in London . In 1911 he was a student of Lovis Corinth in Berlin . He worked as a painter in Hanover from 1915 and lived in Brake from 1933 until his death.
The focus of his work was portraits, landscapes and still lifes , shaped by his impressionistic training. Works by the artist are among others in the Lippisches Landesmuseum in Detmold .
