August Joseph von Plettenberg

August Joseph von Plettenberg (born November 24, 1767 in Plettenberg ; † December 15, 1805 in Hovestadt ) was the imperial treasurer and official resident of Werl , Neheim and Ostinghausen .

Life

August Joseph von Plettenberg was born as the son of Joseph Clemens von Plettenberg (1721–1786) and his wife Maria Theresia von Weichs zu Körtlinghausen (1748–1796) in the noble family von Plettenberg . August Joseph had four half-sisters, including Bernhardina Sophia (1750-1804, Abbess in Geseke), who came from his father's first marriage.

On April 3, 1793, he married Freiin Clementine von Merveldt (1770–1794, daughter of August von Merveldt ) in Münster , who died the year after the wedding. On May 20, 1798, he married Bernhardine Antoinette Droste zu Vischering (1776–1848) , also in Münster . From this marriage there were four children:

  • Sophia Josephina Maria Huberta (~ March 31, 1799)
  • Raisin Auguste (* 1802)
  • Joseph Franz (* 1804, ∞ 1834 Marie Huberta von Merveldt (1809–1839)) and
  • Bernhardine Frederike Ida Theodora Elisabeth Huberta Maria (1805–1834, ∞ 1830 Baron Franz Wilhelm von Wendt (1800–1870))

In 1786 August Joseph was appointed to resign from office in Werl, Neheim and Ostinghausen. He thus succeeded his father, who had held this office from 1744 until his death. In 1797 August Joseph was appointed imperial chamberlain . He held this office until his death.

August Joseph died on December 15, 1805, shortly after the birth of his daughter Bernhardine.
