August Müller-Lamberty (born September 19, 1891 in Mittelreidenbach near Idar-Oberstein , † August 12, 1989 in Bottrop ) was a German painter.

Life

At the age of 14, Müller-Lamberty began training as a painter in a church decoration studio in Landsweiler. In 1909, after completing his apprenticeship, he attended the municipal painting school in Hagen for four or five semesters, which was located in the commercial vocational school above under the roof. He studied art for three semesters in Munich, then another semester in Vienna until the beginning of the First World War.

He was badly wounded in the war. By Christian Rohlfs he received the video The Prodigal Son given when he brought over this in the famine years after the First World War a sausage.

From 1919 to 1956, Müller-Lamberty worked at the Hagen vocational school as a trade and arts teacher. His painting school was located in the extension of what is now the city theater. At first he was a subject teacher for a year. He was accepted into the civil service after he had passed his state examination in Berlin-Charlottenburg as one of the first to be trained as a trade teacher, and then passed the state examination in education. One of his first students was Carl Baumann . With him as well as with Erwin Hegemann and Helwig Pütter he had a long friendship.

Müller-Lamberty was Nestor and one of the eight co-founders of the Hagenring in 1924. a. Karel Niestrath , Karl Gehle, Hans Dorn, Ernst and Otto Erbe. Christian Rohlfs was an honorary member and spiritual father .

Müller-Lamberty mainly created drawings, watercolors and graphics. Cutting techniques in wood and linoleum were also part of his work.

After the death of his wife, he lived in Hagen until 1982. Müller-Lamberty spent his last years in Bottrop in the family of his only daughter and three grandchildren.
