August Rudolf Gebser

August Rudolf Gebser (born January 19, 1801 in Tauchardt ; † 1874 in Halle ) was a German writer , philosopher and theologian .

Life

Gebser began studying theology in Halle and Göttingen in 1818 . As early as 1824 he became a private lecturer in theology in Jena . In 1828 he became associate professor of philosophy at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. In 1829 he moved to Königsberg , where he took on a new role as superintendent and cathedral preacher. In 1830 he became a full professor and between 1830 and 1856 held a position as professor of theology at the University of Königsberg . August Rudolf Gebser was pastor in Königsberg Cathedral from 1829 to 1857 . Life phases in Weimar , Kösen , Eisleben and Halle followed after leaving Koenigsberg. He died in Halle as a pensioner.
